CLEAN UP DAY, SATURDAY, JUNE 27, 8:00AM-1200PM at Stevens Disposal, 16929 Ida West Road.  No large pieces of concrete, no tires, or hazardous material. Items must be canned, bagged, boxed, or bundled. Proof of residency will be required.

NOTICE:  The June 15, 2020 City Council meeting at 7:00pm will be held at City Hall with social distancing measures in place.

Help Wanted: The City of Petersburg, Michigan has a full time opening in its DPW department which will require weekend coverage every 4th weekend and on call for emergency water/sewer issues. The ideal candidate will possess a Michigan CDL license, the ability to operate a backhoe, end loader, snowplow and other equipment associated with street, water/sewer maintenance, and Class D wastewater and S-4 water licenses (or able to attain licenses). Must be able to lift 75 pounds. Residence within 20 minutes preferred. Wage determined by qualifications/experience. Full benefits. PLEASE NOTE:  The City of Petersburg office will resume regular business hours beginning Monday, June 8. The front door will be locked for now until we have installed a glass partition at the front counter. Please call ahead or knock on the door if you need to come inside. We will unlock the door once the partition is installed in approximately 2 weeks. Thank you for your patience!

CITY DUMP OPEN.  The City dump is open for YARD WASTE ONLY for City residents only.  Please note the dump is being monitored by camera.  

BLIGHT- Please be aware that the Blight Ordinance will be enforced in the City of Petersburg. If you receive notice that you are in violation of the Blight Ordinance, and the situation is not remedied within 10 days, or a hearing has not been requested within 10 days (in writing), the blighting condition may be remedied by the City, and the cost assessed against the property. Announcement: The City of Petersburg asks that you please refrain from burning leaves within the city during 11:30-3:00 on school days especially if you live near the school.  The smoke has become a problem for some of our children. We appreciate your cooperation. Thank you for keeping our children safe and happy! 

If you must burn, do not burn in the street-it damages the asphalt (City ordinance). 

5/1/20 Notice is hereby given that May 1st is the date by which owners, occupiers, and possessors of land in the City of Petersburg shall have complied with the provisions of Ordinance 2009-01 regarding the removal, destruction or cutting of the noted vegetation.
