NEW!! App available to monitor water usage!  The DPW workers are working to replace all water meters with new smart meters.  If you would like to schedule an appointment to have your meter replaced, please call the City office at 279-1210.  Once your meter has been replaced, you will be able to utilize "EyeOnWater" a free app available on all smart phones.  Please allow 7 days after installation for the meter to be activated.  Click here for instructions on how to download and set up the app.

PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE UTILITY MARKING FLAGS!!  WE REALIZE THAT RESIDENTS ARE CUTTING GRASS NOW AND IT IS INCONVENIENT TO HAVE TO MOW AROUND FLAGS AND STAKES, BUT WE ASK THAT YOU DO NOT REMOVE THEM.  THEY WILL BE REMOVED AS SOON AS CONSTRUCTION IN THAT AREA IS COMPLETE AND IT IS SAFE TO DO SO. THANK YOU.

Water/Sewer Bill Payment Information:  Please be advised that City of Petersburg water/sewer customers are welcome to make additional payments on their account at any time if it would make it easier to budget for the quarterly billings.  Payments can be made in person, by mail or placed in the drop box (with your name and address).  Please call the office with any questions, 279-1210.  Thank you.

WATER MAIN PROJECT EMERGENCY SHUT-OFF

Be advised that your water service may be interrupted, for emergency purposes, during construction.  Due to the age of the water main system and the components that are being replaced, occasionally the water main may have to be shut down.   Every attempt is being made to maintain an established schedule, of which you will be notified by the placement of a door hanger.  Due to the deterioration of the system, emergency measures may need to be taken involving a larger area than scheduled. For after hours emergencies, please call 734 260-8271. We appreciate your patience during this construction project and welcome any comments or questions you may have.

If you receive notice that you are in violation of the Blight Ordinance, and the situation is not remedied within 10 days, or a hearing has not been requested within 10 days (in writing), the blighting condition may be remedied by the City, and the cost assessed against the property. The full ordinance can be read by clicking HERE.

Announcement: The City of Petersburg asks that you please refrain from burning leaves within the city during 11:30-3:00 on school days especially if you live near the school.  The smoke has become a problem for some of our children. We appreciate your cooperation. Thank you for keeping our children safe and happy!

If you must burn, do not burn in the street-it damages the asphalt (City ordinance).

5/1/20 Notice is hereby given that May 1st is the date by which owners, occupiers, and possessors of land in the City of Petersburg shall have complied with the provisions of Ordinance 2009-01 regarding the removal, destruction or cutting of the noted vegetation.
